Region Halland: The strategy can guide Swedish healthcare

“Swedish healthcare needs AI to meet an increasing demand in healthcare. We have to decrease the amount of administrative work, and we need to increase the precision in the care we provide so that our resources create the most possible value for our patients,” says Markus Lingman, Chief Strategy Officer, board of Halland Hospital Group.

“With AI comes new ways of providing healthcare, and it’s our job to utilize the possibilities responsibly. At the same time, there are many uncertainties about how AI can be used within healthcare. I hope that the AI -strategy can guide Swedish healthcare going forward.”

“After many years of technology pilots, Region Halland is now moving into implementation where we build an organizational structure that allows for scaling the technology so that it has a real impact. But even with our size, we aren’t big enough to put all the needed pieces in place ourselves. We are dependent on collaboration, both nationally and internationally but also across sectors. We will continue to invest time and effort in collaboration with other actors so that we together build the knowledge and skills we need.”
